Like many PwP’s (Persons with Parkinson’s) when I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) in 2013 at the age of 67, I begin researching and reading everything I could find about PD. Shortly after my diagnoses I started this blog to as a way for family and friends to track my journey with PD. Since the initial post, I have continued my active research about PD while advocating in support of research to find a cure for Parkinson’s.
When I’m not exercising or working on this blog or maintaining a couple of other websites, I enjoy brewing my own beer and would go fishing everyday if I could (some people would say I have achieved that goal!!) I am happily married to my soulmate and super care partner Mara. We recently relocated to Sarasota, FL from Eastern Tennessee (just in time for Hurricane Irma (2017)). We enjoy visits from, and visiting with, family and friends, hanging at the beach when we can and watching the sunset.
Speaking of sunsets, the photo above is a screen shot from a video I took several years ago on Siesta Key Beach here in Sarasota. We have been coming to Siesta Key for several years and discovered that a few condo complexes from the one we were staying at was a man who plays Taps every evening at sundown on his trumpet. Nicknamed the Horn Man by our grandchildren we would go and listen as often as we could. One evening we were listening to him play and watching the sunset as I took this video and when I replayed it I discovered the two dolphins surfacing just as the sun went down. Click here if you would like to watch the entire video.
